DAV Centenary Public School, Bhawanathpur Township, an educational institution in Jharkhand, India, located in the outskirts of Garhwa district was sponsored by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in 1985. It has been a co-educational school right from the Prep to the Senior Secondary level affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and managed by DAV College Managing Committee. Started with about 200 number of students the school has acquired today that of 2000 from different levels of society. The school imparts not only the theoretical but the practical education through the labs: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computers, Mathematics and different extra-curricular activities.
The students’ strength has been divided into four houses: Dayananda House, Hansraj House, Lala Lajpat Rai House and Shradhananda House for the benefit of students to participate in inter-house activities.
Having been situated in the remotest area of Palamu populated with poverty stricken people, the school illuminated their lives with knowledge and earned success to the greatest extent in abolishing their miseries.
It has been one of the prestigious institutions in Garhwa District under Ranchi Zone. Recently in 2015- 16, the school has earned the second position in academics among the schools of the Zone under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. RK Singh and in 2018-19 habitually the school stood the second in QPI in the Zone – B under the experienced leadership of the Principal Sri R.K.Sinha.
